How far they travel from their territory to search for food?
Although rat prefers not to travel too much, they choose the places where they can find food and water in excess, but on a need, they can travel to other places. Usually, they travel for 75-100 feet to search for food. In case of food shortage, they can travel long to find food. There is also a possibility they may shift to another living place where they can find food in excessive amounts.
Like mice, they sleep at day time and stay active at night time to search for the food.
If you find them in your house, there is a possibility they may destroy your property by eating or by use of their waste. You can use a trap to get rid of them, but use the trap at night time to get good results.
