United States Skunk Species
There are varieties of skunk species you may found them in the united state. There are four species of skunk that are founded in the united state. All of the species are slightly different from each other, but they have different qualities, they also share many commonalities. For example, most skunk size is near to the housecat or even equal to small dogs. Some of the North America species eat specific food while the other eats whatever is available to them; they can eat garbage, small insects or animals, grubs, and plants. When they feel danger, they emit the specific odor spray that keeps their predators away from them. They do not spray in their own dense. They can spray many times in their rapid succession. Their weight varies from 2.5 pounds to 15 pounds. As compared to other mammals, they are slow and run only to 10 mph. They have bushy tails than can be 10 inches longer.
Owl has a poor sense of smell. This is the reason skunk prey on them easily. Although skunk has a bad vision, they have a strong sense of them that helps them a lot.
The only skunk that is not founded in America is an Asian stink badger. According to research, they usually lived three years in the wild, and on the other side, they can live 15 years in captivity.
The species that are founded in the united state are given below:
